Uganda’s teenage sensation Jacob Kiplimo has stunned a rich field to win the World Half Marathon Championships gold in a new championship record of 59:49 minutes in Gdynia, Poland.
Kiplimo beat Kenya’s Kibiwott Kandie, the fastest man in the world this year, but coming this time in second position.

The 19 year old was also no match for the big star Joshua Cheptegei who came in fourth place.
This was Jushua’s first ever attempt at this distance.
Kiplimo now becomes the first Ugandan winner at these championships and just the second teenager in the history of the event to win the title.
