Burundi military agents have reportedly been dispatched to Kampala to hunt down opposition figures, Chimp Corps report.
A human rights source told this website on Thursday that the alleged agents are always travelling in a Toyota double cabin car under registration number C265AIT.
“Burundian refugees who are opposed to President Pierre Nkurunziza’s government are being targeted,” the source, who preferred anonymity so as to speak freely, added.
The crisis in Burundi has led to more than 100,000 people seeking safety in Uganda, according to United Nations High Commission for Refugees.
Developing instability in Burundi led to a fresh emergency influx of new arrivals into Uganda during 2016.
Nearly 20,000 Burundians sought safety in Uganda during the course of the year, peaking during the election period in Burundi in June and July.
Sources said the Burundi government fears that the refugees in Uganda and Rwanda could mobilise to use arms to return to their country.

In 1990, Rwanda refugees picked arms to fight the government of Juvenal Habyarimana before taking power four years later.
One year after the Burundi crisis began, almost 260,000 people have fled to nearby countries and thousands more could join them over the rest of the year unless a political solution is found and a descent into civil war averted.
People continue to arrive in neighboring countries, albeit in smaller numbers in recent weeks as it becomes harder to cross borders.
Many asylum seekers or new arrivals report human rights abuses in Burundi, including torture, sexual violence, arbitrary detention, intimidation, forced recruitment by militia, killings and extortion.
To date, 259,132 people have fled the country.
