Tarehe Sita: Kalungu Residents Applaud UPDF for Free Services Extended to Them

Locals in Kalungu district have commended the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for exhibiting a high spirit of patriotism as the army extended free medical, cleaning and fumigation services to them in commemoration of the 40th Tarehe Sita anniversary.

The Kalungu Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Caleb Tukaikiriza noted that “UPDF is a pro people force and manifests its operations under tough disciplinary measures.”

At St Joseph of Good Shepherd Kyamulimbwa NGO Health Centre IV, the UPDF Director of Nursing services Lt Col Grace Baguma noted that the army is involved in offering free medical services to the residents of the area in appreciation for the latter’s contribution to the “liberation struggle.”

Shafinah Nabitula, a leader at Kyamulimbwa women group also commended the army for the extension of the free services.

UPDF extending free fumigation services to the people of Kalungu district.

“UPDF is a true pro people force as evidenced with the offered free treatment, cleaning and fumigation services,” she said.

Meanwhile, the army donated a water pump to Kilimya Youth Foundation Group from Kilimya village in Masaka district.

The water pump was delivered by UPDF Deputy Chief Political Commissar Col Nelson Aheebwa.

UPDF extending free cleaning services to the people of Kalungu district.

Col Aheebwa told the youths that UPDF works with the people because “it builds its foundation from its good relationship with them.”
