The newly elected LC3 Chairman of Kabale Municipality’s Northern Division Mr. Isaac Mucunguzi Rushoga has been left with no choice but to walk to his office daily, after his predecessor Happiness Kyokwijuka refused to hand over the government motorcycle for the office.
The outgoing Chairman Kyokwijuka who served in the office for 15 years was floored by Mucunguzi in the last March sub county elections.
Kyokwijuka was supposed to have handed in all the division property by 12th May 2016 like all the other outgoing leaders but he hasn’t.
“Even the office keys, he gave them to the security guard that he found at the office,” Mucunguzi told us.
On Thursday during the swearing in ceremony of the new chairman at the division headquarters, Kyokwijuka never showed up.
Grace Munyambabazi, the acting Northern Division principal assistant town clerk says that Kyokwijuka never handed over anything to him.
Mucunguzi says he is now preparing to petition the Kabale Municipal Clerk Charles Magumba and the Mayor Sentaro Byamugisha as his work is being hampered by lack of transport means.
When contacted on phone, Kyokwijuka told Chimpreports that government gave him the motorcycle and that it belongs to him.
He added that having served the Division for fifteen years, there was no way he would leave empty handed.
