Out-going High-Commissioner of Uganda to Kenya, Amb. Angelina Wapahkabulo has hailed the importance of student exchanges between Uganda and Kenya and invited Kenyan investors in all sectors and particularly the education sector to invest in Uganda.
She made the remarks during the 20th Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) Annual conference opened at the Sai Rock Hotel in Mombasa on 10th April 2017. The Conference was opened by the Coast Regional Coordinator representing the Kenya Cabinet Secretary for Education Dr. Fred Natiangi.
“Historically, there have been good relations and cooperation between Uganda and Kenya especially in the education sector”, observed Amb. Wapakhabulo.
The AGM which has attracted over 3000 Directors and Head teachers of schools from across Kenya was also addressed by Mr. Patrick Kaboyo CEO of the federation of Uganda Non- State Educational Institutions(FENUI) who highlighted the work of FENUI and collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda.
A number of companies and institutions including the Uganda High Commission, in collaboration with the Uganda Consulate in Mombasa, exhibited at the AGM showcasing brochures and publications from several primary and secondary schools as well as other tertiary institutions.
Representatives of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), the academic registrar Dr. Umar Mwebesa and director Kampala campus Dr. Adnan Ali Adikata were also in attendance.
