The Four time Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye has vowed never to end his defiance campaign until he takes over power from President Yoweri Museveni who he is accusing of holding the office illegally.

Besigye made the revelation while addressing the group of his party supporters in Toroma trading center minutes after police had dispersed them with live bullets and teargas.

In his address Dr. Besigye said that, he was not happy with the way the government is treating the ordinary Ugandan’s.

On Tuesday morning police commanded by the East Kyoga Regional Police Commander Francis Tumwesigye blocked Dr. Besigye from delivering food aid to hunger hit locals of Katakwi District.

The famine situation in the Eastern District of Katakwi is worrying with locals surviving with porridge as a source of leaving.

Besigye has in many occasions accused President Museveni of occupying the President’s office illegally.

He insists he won a presidential election held in February.

But according to official Electoral results, Museveni won with over 60 percent of the votes.

Besigye announced himself winner on 11th May before being arrested and charged with treason in Moroto. He was later transferred to Kampala.

Election observers said in their reports that, the polls were marked by many irregularities, but Uganda’s top court said those failures were not substantial enough to affect the final outcome.

Besigye said, unlike other elections and all the rigging, President Museveni knows well he (Besigye) won the 2016 presidential election and vows to prove Museveni didn’t win.

He reiterated that, police under the command of Felix Kaweesi (deceased) attacked FDC party offices before holding keeping the party headquarters in hostage for weeks.

“I have a judgment of court showing i was under illegal detention. If I was a candidate, you put me under illegal detention and stop me from challenging the election, then you have abrogated the constitution. I have all what it takes to reclaim my seat as President,” Besigye said amidst cheering ululations from his party supporters.

After the rally, Besigye visited the family of the late Toroma County MP Cryus Amodoi who perished in a taxi accident last month in Kampala – Jinja highway.
