Fufa Women’s cup
Ajax Queens 0(1) – 0(2) Kawempe Muslim
Kawempe Muslim advanced to the next round of the inaugural Fufa Women’s cup after going past Ajax Queens.
The game played on Tuesday in Bulenga had to be decided on penalties with normal time ending in a barren stalemate.
Either side failed to find the spark during normal time and the game’s best chance fell to Kawempe’s Juliet Nalukenge in the 62nd minute but was denied by the woodwork with the ball ricocheting off the crossbar.
There was drama during the penalty shootout with either team taking nine but only three of the total 18 players managed to convert.
Tracy Akiror and Juliet Adeke scored for Kawempe Muslim while only Harriet Nakuba converted for Ajax Queens.
Kawempe Muslim joins UCU Lady Cardinals, She Corporate, Western United, Olila High School, Taggy High School and Muteesa I Royal University who have already qualified for the quarter final stage.
The other round of 16 fixture will be played on Thursday with London Stallions taking on Gafford Ladies in Seeta.
