
Following the passing of NRM Moroto District Woman Member of Parliament, Annie Logiel, the party Electoral Commission has issued a roadmap calling for expression of interest by the party members to refill the seat.
The NRM Electoral Commission (EC) Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi called upon all interested members to pick nomination forms from the party EC offices from Thursday 9 to Tuesday 14, March 2017 at no fee.
“Thursday the 16th March we shall have nomination of candidates here; and on Friday 17, we shall have a consultative meeting with key stakeholders in Moroto at the district headquarters,” Odoi announced.
From here he said, joint campaigns as provided for by the party constitution will be held from March 18 to April 1 and on Monday 3 April, will be voting and announcement of results in Moroto district.
“On 4th and 5th, we shall have conflict resolution if any and on 6th and 7th, we shall forward our candidate to the National Electoral Commission for nomination.
Tanga called upon all interested members to ensure that they fulfill all the necessary requirements.
Tanga has warned aspiring candidates and other interested parties to refrain from engaging in any form of campaigns until the gazetted time as laid out in the roadmap.
