Police Driver Kills One in Pallisa

Police has started investigating a fatal accident in which a Police officer killed a cyclist and injured another person in Pallisa District in Eastern Uganda.

Police Deputy Publicist Polly Namaye has identified the police officer as Assistant Superintendent of Police Aleper Thomas, the O/C Station Agule Police station in Pallisa district.

Alepar reportedly lost control of his vehicle, a Subaru Forester registration number UAU 812F, hitting a bicycle rider and killing him instantly while the passenger was injured and rushed to Mbale hospital for emergency treatment.

The accident occurred on 13th August 2016 at Kamuge village, Kibales County, Pallisa District. The deceased has been identified as Orau Constant 24 years, a resident of Kaguya village, Kamugein Pallisa district.

The on the other hand injured has been identified as David Agii, a 13 year old pupil and a resident of Odeperio village in Kibale sub county, Pallisa district.

Nsamaye says the The Police officer too was injured in the accident and was rushed to Mbale hospital for emergency treatment.

A case has been opened up against him under reference 64/2016 of Pallisa Police station.
