UIA Welcomes Germans Investors

Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) on Thursday welcomed a group of 30 new business delegates from Germany who want to invest in Uganda.

This follows the visit by President Yoweri Museveni to Germany in July, were he met with the investors for he convinced them and invited them to come and invest in Uganda.

The initial talks in Germany led to more detailed discussions that preceded the quick agreement by the   prospective investors to come and invest in Uganda.

Their aim they say join and expand the number of Germany investors in Uganda, making a starting point of stronger bilateral ties between the two countries.

According to Frank Sebbowa the executive director UIA, the prospective investors are looking forward to investing in different fields, and the Authority is ready to accord them all the support.

“I am also requesting the delegates to invite more investors from Germany; encourage them to come and increase investments by the Germans,” Sebbowa said.

The investors, he said, will help increase the number of industries in Uganda which will solve the problem of unemployment.

Speaking at the UIA offices, Dr Liebing Stefan the chairman of Germany-African Association said they are happy to respond to the president’s call and are looking forward to working with Ugandans.

The team of investors is going to cover different investment sectors from manufacturing, infrastructure, IT and many other fields.

The investors are also getting a chance to meet with the president on Thursday and Saturday so that they discuss more about business in Uganda.
