Opposition Democratic Party (DP) members have Thursday morning learnt with shock about the demise of the Party’s National Treasurer, Issa Kikungwe’s wife who passed on last night.
Kikungwe, who was the opposition party’s flag bearer for the 2016 Kampala Lord Mayor elections lost his wife Hajati Zainah Nalule on Wednesday night, shortly upon arrival at Rubaga Hospital. She was reportedly battling heart disease.
“Hajati has had hypertension for some time. Her situation worsened last night and was rushed to the hospital where she died on arrival,” a party leader told Chimpreports at the DP offices in Kampala today.
“The doctors informed us that it was a little too late and they couldn’t do much to save her life, May her soul rest in peace,” he added.
It had been revealed that recently, Nalule underwent a major operation due to fibroids which was successful but ever since her life hasn’t been that stable. She has left 6 children.
Nalule will be put to rest at the husband’s ancestral home in Nabbingo, Bataka zone in Wakiso District at 4PM today Thursday.
