The Minister of Health Dr. Ruth Aceng has today July 3, 2020 commissioned Mwitanzige Kyabusinge Health Center 3, located in Mwitanzige Sub-county, Kibale District.
The health center’s construction project was launched in December 2019 by the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga at a foundation stone laying ceremony. The construction of the health center was an initiative of the Commissioner of Parliament and area MP, Hon. Robina Nabbanja.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Diana Atwine and the Director General Dr. Henry Mwebesa, accompanied by other technical officers from the Ministry are inspecting Kagadi General Hospital, Kagadi District.
Kagadi hospital suffered a partial scale down in 2019, resulting from water shortage caused by a breakdown of the major water pump that supplied the hospital, bringing some section operations of the facility like maternity, to a halt.
The Ministry of Health, together with Kagadi District Health stakeholders swung into action to restore the normal operation as disclosed by the Health Minister Dr. Ruth Aceng in her report presented to Parliament concerning the matter.
One of the technical officials from Ministry of Health stated that the inspection aims at assessing health services delivery at the facility and thus streamlines monitoring and supervision by decision makers.
“This is to assess health services delivery at the facility for areas that need urgent improvement for the Hospital Management and the Ministry,” an official noted.
It should be noted that on July 1, 2020, the Ministry of Health PS and Director General also inspected the newly refurbished Kayunga hospital as the contractor, Arab Contractors prepare to handover the hospital to Ministry of Health for use.
