National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is mourning the death of their colleague and fellow staff member Joan Kabandize Kiconco who passed on during an operation at Case Clinic on Tuesday.

Kiconco, 36, worked for eight years in the NSSF’s customer service division at Workers House in Kampala before being transferred to Lugazi station where she was working.

NSSF’s Deputy Managing Director Geraldine Ssali on Wednesday described the deceased as “a jolly person with big regard and respect for her bosses.”

“She diligently gave her all and was excellent at performance. NSSF has people, and it also has ‘real people’, Jean was one of the real people. She drew people to herself and was the cohesion of the team,” said Ssali while speaking at a requiem service held at St. Andrews Church in Bukoto.

“Besides working together at the Fund, Jean was my personal friend. I believe she has gone to a better place and this is an exam for us her friends,” she added.

Ssali also said the NSSF would take care of all funeral expenses and that other staff members were still sending in their contributions.

“Recently on 7th May, we held a baby shower for her and the number of people who were present would show you how good she was at making friends,” Mrs. Bwesigye added.

She described her as a “Priceless game, beautiful soul that didn’t leave the lives she touched”
