Hoima Police Hunts for Election Supervisor for Stealing Biometric Machines

Police in Hoima is hunting for one Nelson Atumanya, the Kyangwali sub county election supervisor on accusations that he stole biometric machines used for voter verification in the just concluded elections.

Zacharia Mbabazi, the head of criminal investigations at Hoima Police Station told Chimpreports on Tuesday that Atumanya connived with nine other presiding officers from Kyangwali and stole Biometric voter’s verification kits (BVVK) with their memory cards.

All the nine who are accused of assisting in this crime according to the police boss and are being held the Hoima police.

He identified these as Gerard Tumuhimbise (30) a presiding officer at Kyarujumba trading center polling station, Fabias Kamanyire (32) a presiding officers at Harubari polling station, Christopher Katusime(32) a presiding officer at Wairagaza polling station, Agnes Bikara (19) presiding officer at Kyarujumba Pentecostal polling station and Aloysius Kabagambe (28) presiding officers at Kyarushesha cattle market A-K polling station.

Others are Wilson Gad (24) a BVVK operator at  Kyarujumba trading center  polling station, Josephine Murungi BVVK operator at Harubari polling station and Alex Mbabazi (22) BVVK operator at Kyarushesha cattle market A-K polling station.
