The Saints FC have moved to two points away from safety after a historical and memorable 2-0 away win from league giants Sports Club Villa on Tuesday at Nakivubo.
George Senkaaba was responsible for both goals scoring on both halves to secure the win for the coffee spirit sponsored outfit.
The striker broke the deadlock in the 35th minute from Alex Kitata’s assist. Kitata ran down to the line and picked a through ball which had been neglected by Villa defense, chipped in over Sebawato for Senkaba to thump in.
The striker completed his brace, ten minutes after the breather after he got onto Ivan Kiweewa’s short pass and made a wonder turn before releasing a low shot that found Sebwato unaware and into the net.
The win lifts Saints to 12th with 33 and could conform safety with a win against already relegated Maroons FC on Friday at Namboole.
On the other hand, SC Villa’s title hopes become slimmer with eight games remaining and standing at 36 points. Meaning they have to win all games and hope KCCA FC or Vipers don’t maintain perfection in their remaining three and four games respectively.
Lweza FC with 31 have now been dragged down into the relegation mathematics after dropping to 13th with only two games remaining on their schedule. They now need three points or hope for Simba to drop points.
