The Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations at Mayuge Police Station Abdul Nasser Mulimira has asked private security companies to skill their security guards on dealing with people, considering some are not “careful with people’s lives.”

Speaking to journalists at his office following the arrest of a security guard who shot a 13 year old boy and injured his legs, Mulimira also called upon security companies to ensure that the people they employ can be trusted with people’s lives and property.

Mulimira also advised security personnel to control their emotions, especially when they are armed.

Aron Wavamuno who was manning security at Opportunity Bank and attached to Security Guide Africa in Mayuge town council shot a 13 year old boy identified as Jeremaya Wanyosi.

According to Peter Oyango the father of the boy, his son had been sent to demand Shs500 from the guard.

In his defense, Waavamuno however said that the boy wanted to remove the gun from him and he was also scared.

Currently, the boy is at Iganga hospital where he was rushed after the incident.

Mulimira said Wavamuno is going to be charged so that he faces the law.
