As the Global End Polio Campaign Enters Day two, the office of the RDC Kabarole and other security agencies have revealed that saboteurs of this program will be arrested and charged according to the laws of the country.
Mrs Rose Monday Byabasaija the Deputy RDC Kabarole discloses that those defying the door to door polio exercise are against government programs and deny children a right to health and life which is one of the Millennium Development Goals.
The RDC was speaking during a press conference held in the office of the district chairman at Kitumba headquarters on Saturday.
This follows reports that some people are planning to defy the exercise claiming that their children developed diarrhea and vomiting during the previous polio immunization that the vaccine was contaminated.
Mrs Byabasaija assured the people that government does not want to kill its people ensure that they live a health life.
Mr. Rwabuhinga Richard the district chairman encouraged the parents to embrace the polio immunization third round campaign saying a child who gets this 3rd dose becomes more immune and resistant to polio attacks.
Kabarole is among the 61 districts where polio immunization is being carried because of the influx of refugees from cross borders like Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan that have not immunized
their children due to insecurity.
The chairman asked he parents to immunize their children to avoid regrets in future.
Dr. Nathan Ruhinda the District Health Officer encouraged parents to embrace the exercise that started on Saturday 23rd, and ends Monday 25th.
