Goodra Tumusiime Behakanira, the wife of deceased owner of Avemar Shopping Center, Joseph Behakanira has sold it off.
The shopping centre located on Luwum Street in down town Kampala is one of the oldest shopping malls in the capital.
Family sources informed Chimpreports today that the widow sold off the building to tycoon Lule Ntake at USD 8million.
When contacted on the development, Mrs Tumusiime confirmed the sale but declined to divulge further details, insisting on a physical meeting with our reporter in town, which she also turned down later, switching off her phones.

Her husband, who passed away in 2010, also left behind a number of other investments including J&M Airport Road Hotel along the Kampala Entebbe Road.
Mr Behakanira, passed away suddenly at the age of 53 due to high blood pressure mid-February 2010.
At the time of his passing, he was under investigation by parliament over Shs 2.6 billion that he received from government to provide accommodation to the Chogm guests in 2007.
His Hotel in Bwebajja never provided these services.
On September 1 2004, during the construction of the same hotel, some of the structures collapsed and killed at least eight people.
Behakanira, who was also former NRA soldier at the rank of captain, got himself into trouble with his business over enormous loans.
Shortly after the tragic 2004 incident, it emerged that his property was threatened with attachment over failure to pay a sh4.5billion loan from Baroda Bank and another sh5b loan from Diamond Trust Bank.
Also, in 2008, Barclays Bank hired receivers to recover a sh4.7b debt.
The two banks dragged him to the Commercial Court where he accepted to pay Sh. 80m every month but never fulfilled his promise. Reports claimed his used state connections to avoid losing the property.
