In order to avert the loitering of animals in Soroti Municipality,  Councillors have passed a resolution to confiscate and charge the owners of stray animals found roaming the streets of the municipality.

According to the Municipality Speaker Isaac Elakuna, the move is geared towards curbing the increasing number of loitering animals and protecting over 4000 trees the municipal authorities planted in different parts of the town.

He revealed that the owners of the livestock will be charged between 30,000 and 50,000 shillings for each of the impounded animal.
