
Eudia Kwizera, the former Kisoro Woman Member of Parliament is dead.
Kwizera served in the 8th Parliament (2006 to 2011) before she lost the seat to Sarah Nyirabahitsi Mateke the daughter of State Minister Philemon Mateke.
She passed away on Friday morning at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala after a short illness.
One of the relatives Mariam Katabariza Tumuheirwe says the former legislator had been admitted at the city hospital for a few days.
She said arrangements are being made for burial at her ancestral home in Rubuguri town council in Kisoro district.
Abel Bizimana the Kisoro LC5 chairman said he was saddened by the news and added that the passing was a major loss to Kisoro and Uganda.
Sarah Nyirabahitsi passed away at the age of 60 years.
She had a Bachelors Degree and certificate in Counseling. Before joining politics she worked with Compassion International as a grassroots mobilizer.
She was also a member of the Executive Board of African Queens and Women Cultural Leaders Network (AQWCLN). She is survived with a son one Michael Kwizera.
