Police in Kagadi district are investigating the cold blooded murder of a wealthy local business man who they say was taken out on suspicion that he practiced cannibalism.
78 year old Yakobo Baguma was hacked to death by what police believes are his own neighbours who accused him of eating human meat.
The murder took place on Sunday evening in Kyabagogo village, in Butumba Ward, Muhorro Town Council.
The Kagadi District Police Commander Peter Ongwar said Yakobo was fatally cut on his head and neck and other parts of the body.
His body was found lying in a pool of blood on Sunday evening at around 8:00pm in his home.
The suspected killers, now on the run, are said to have accused the deceased of trying to kill their mother in order to eat her.
The daughter to the deceased Joyce Mugisa told Chimpreports however, that she never knew her father as a cannibal.
Baguma left behind many investments in Kagadi town which includes several buildings and farms of cattle.
DPC Ogwar who visited the scene said investigations have commenced and promised to have the suspects apprehended.
He said Police detained the mother of the suspected killers, who the deceased supposedly planned to eat, to help with the investigations.
