Police have explained circumstances under which a Kampala businessman was shot dead in the wee hours of Saturday.
Mathias Byamugisha was on Saturday morning shot dead by unknown gunmen in Muswangali zone, Makindye Division, Kampala District.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Area Police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, the assailants took off with an unspecified amount of money after orchestrating the murder.
“It is suspected that part of the revelers at his shop participated in the criminal act,” Kayima told ChimpReports before condemning the perpetrators.
“We promise to hunt for the criminals, recover the killer weapons and also bring the culprits to book.”
He added that the body was taken to the mortuary for a postmortem.
