
Buyaga West Member of Parliament and Chairman for the Bunyoro Parliamentary Caucus, Hon. Barnabas Tinkasimire has hinted on quitting politics after clocking 60 years.
Speaking as a chief guest at the graduation ceremony of Prime Technical Institute in Bugahya County, Hoima District yesterday; Tinkasimire highlighted the need for opportunities to be provided to the young generation to take up the top positions in government.
Tinkasimire said the habit of politicians clinging onto power has blocked the emergence of young potential and fresh political minds.
At 46 years now, Tinkasimire is serving his third term in the tenth parliament. He joined politics in 2006 and going by his promise; he will be leaving the scene just before the 2031 general elections.
At the graduation, the legislator advised graduates to be extra creative in the job market they are joining.
On the issue of land grabbing that continues to affect Bunyoro region, Tinkasimire promised to work hand in hand with Bunyoro MPs to fight and stop the rich land grabbers.
A total of 180 students graduated in various Vocational courses at the event.
