The National Female Youth Member of Parliament elect, Adeke Anna Ebaju on Monday narrowly survived death near Makerere University’s main gate, where a new building collapsed.
Kyasekka Towers, which was still incomplete but in use crumbled on Monday afternoon, covering dozens of people and cars.
3 bodies had by publication time been retrieved from the rubble as well as seven critically injured survivors who were rushed to nearby Mulago Hospital.
Ms. Adeke revealed shortly after the incident that she was in close proximity with the building when it went down.
She posted on social media, “You would need to believe if I told you that I was within a radius of
2 meters close to the building that just collapsed near ham towers Makerere.”
Police together with Red Cross and KCCA were still trying to move the rubble in search for survivors and bodies.
