The Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru has been locked down and security operatives deployed around the facility, Chimp Corps report.
The development comes in the wake of the recent impasse between the two Fufa factions, led by former Uganda Cranes player Dan Walisimbi and current President Eng. Moses Magogo.
About four UPDF commandos are currently deployed at the main gate which is sealed off to deny entry of any cars although the small gate remains open for pedestrians to access the facility.
Speaking to ChimpSport on Friday morning, one of the soldiers revealed that they were guarding the centre after a tip off that some people harbored intentions to vandalize property.
“We are here to guard the stadium because there was information that some people wanted to burn the carpet (turf),” said one of the UPDF soldiers. He however said he wasn’t in position to tell why there was a seal at the gate.

Currently, a management and administration course is going on at the facility although the gate is closed.
A source inside the management of the facility, who preferred anonymity so as to speak freely revealed that the seal was put on the gate by Njeru Municipal Council officials who claim that Fufa owes them money.
“The council workers came and closed the gates yesterday, just some days after putting the notice. They claim that we owe them Shs 25million but I don’t know for what,’ the source confided in ChimpSport.
By publication time, business was going on usually in the facility with only pedestrians allowed to access it.
Asked about the developments, Fufa Spokesperson Ahmed Hussein denied knowledge of the lockdown and the UPDF deployment.
“I am not going to comment on that. I am the owner of the place and am telling you nothing like that is happening. You come with your car and see whether you will be denied entry,” Hussein told ChimpSport on phone.
He declined to comment on the issue of the Shs 25million allegedly owed to Njeru Municipal Council saying he knew nothing about it.
“I won’t say anything right now. If you get the real documentation from the council, then we can talk about that that,” added a furious Hussein.
