Police in Jinja have commenced investigations into circumstances under which an employee with power distributor died on duty.
An eye witness told ChimpReports on Tuesday that the unidentified man wearing a uniform of Umeme was struck dead by a collapsing pole.
The shocking incident occurred at around 3:45pm.
The deceased was digging a hole around the pole when it fell and smashed his head.
Police have since sealed off the place to allow detectives investigate the matter.
The death calls into question Umeme’s commitment to the safety of its staff while on duty.
