Uganda Premier League
Express 1-1 URA

Express’ horrible winless run extended to six games after sharing spoils with Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club in the Azam Uganda Premier League game played at Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

Bokota Labama Kamana gave URA the lead before Herman Wasswa levelled matters in the second half to salvage a point for the Red Eagles.

The dismal performance climaxed with the sacking of head coach Wasswa Bossa who had been given an ultimatum to win against URA to save his job.

Bokota put the tax collectors ahead in the 25th minute finishing from close range past Express goalkeeper Ali Kiggundu.

Suleiman Mutyaba had a chance to level matters ten minutes later but he failed to put the ball past URA goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian in a one on one situation and the visitors headed into halftime leading 1-0.

Wasswa Bossa brought on Simon Sserunkuma for Isaac Sserunkuma after recess piling more pressure on the visitors with Alionzi making several saves.

The Red Eagles levelled matters through striker Herman Wasswa who tapped home Saddam Ibrahim Juma’s cross five minutes after the hour mark.

Saddam Juma was denied by the post in the 75th minute after his ferocious effort ricocheted off the bottom of the goal post with goalkeeper Alionzi already beaten and the two sides settled for a draw.

This was the sixth consecutive game that Express failed to pick maximum points a run that led to the sacking of Wasswa Bossa.

The last time that the red eagles went six gamed without a win was during the 2014/15 season  between 28/11/2014 to 23/12/2014 drawing goalless against KCCA, a 2-1 loss to Police, a goalless draw with Vipers and this was followed with losses to BUL,URA and Lweza 2-1, 1-0 and 2-1 respectively.
