Troubled Rubaga South MP Paul Kato Lubwama has rushed to High Court seeking dismissal with costs an application filed by one of his voters, to be allowed chance to file an election petition for purposes of ousting him out of the 10th Parliament.
Through his lawyers of Nalukoola, Kakeeto Advocates,Kato Lubwama contends that the petitioner Habib Buweembo’s application doesn’t fulfill the necessary requirements to warrant court to extend time within which he can file an election petition.
The legislator claims that Buwembo in his application does not give reasons why he failed to investigate and file a petition against him within the stipulated time frame after gazetting him fully as a duly elected MP of Rubaga South.
Buwembo went to High Court seeking permission to file an election petition against Kato Lubwama whom he accuses of lacking O ‘ level certificate which is the main qualification for joining A’level; the minimum academic qualification required by an MP.
