Kagadi: Poor Roads, Heavy Rains Disrupt Third Term Opening

As Students & Pupils in Various secondary and primary schools report for third term 2016, most schools of Kagadi District have registered low turn up of learners due to heavy down pour and poor road network.

Heavy rainfall which lasted for about 3 hours started in the morning as school children were traveling to their respective schools for the opening of promotional term.

Some students were forced to go back home while others were seen battling with mud struggling to report to school.

The Kagadi People’s Secondary School financial administrator, Gonzaga Mugabi, says although the turn up was not good, some students who never came with school dues were sent home to collect dues.

At Kagadi SS, a government aided school, half of the total enrollment of 1010 turned up for studies with more than half of teachers.

Kagadi Model Primary School the Head teacher, Kijukyo Elizabeth says less than half of pupils turned up for studies.

In other parts of the District, there was also obstruction of heavy rain stopping some children from reaching schools in time and facing the problem of poor roads.
