
Police in the Rwizi region is will be joining the rest of the regions to celebrate the oncoming national community policing week.
The police force is celebrating its transformation from the old colonial policing methods to the new community based one.
The Rwizi region police spokesperson Ibin Senkumbi while addressing the media yesterday said the police week celebrations in the area will run from 27th September to 3rd October this year.
Senkumbi said the activities in the week will include Evaluation, Rectification and building Police Force through pro-active policing that will make members of the community come closer to the police force.
“Just like in other parts of the country, we will be celebrating a police week in Mbarara; and we invite everybody who has issues with police, complaints, clarification or any kind of information to come to us during this week,” he said
Ibin said that interaction with people, a police clinic and addressing people’s concerns will be taking place during the police week through our the region.
“So whoever wants to know what police does, want to enter anywhere including our cells will have a free access; so long as people are well intentioned,” Senkumbi said
