A few hours to the much anticipated crucial game for  Uganda  against Comoros, Cranes head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic has put emphasis on players being effective.

Micho believes that every player that will have the chance to play on Sunday should  put in his ability.

“We have been working on so many aspects since we entered camp. However, whatever we have been doing will be assessed on Sunday,so the players need to be effective in every aspect of the game,” said Micho.

The Serbian tactician stressed that every moment and chance will count if Uganda is to break the 38 year jinx of not qualifying for African Cup of Nations.

“We need to be efficient and utilize every chance that we get. It will be meaningless if we create so many chances but fail to put them away. Therefore all the players need to be focused,” he added.

During training on Friday, Micho focused on business in the final third of the field with strikers Geoffrey Massa, Emmanuel Okwi, Yunus Ssentamu and Geoffrey Sserunkuma shooting at goal.

Asked about Onyango’s injury status, Micho said, the Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper will be subjected to a late medical fitness test.

“Much as Onyango is a key figure in our team, he has brought us this far and has done great things for Uganda but we will not risk. Life comes first,so we will subject him to a late fitness test to see whether he will be match fit,” Micho said.

Uganda takes on Comoros on Sunday in the final group D game of the 2017 African Cup of Nations and a win for the cranes will earn them a berth at next year’s edition in Gabon.
