Former Uganda Revenue Authority FC’s shot stopper Brian ‘Ziggi’ Bwette joined Lweza F.C on a short six months deal during the pre-season window that ends on September 21.
He has so far played two games. Though the team has been unlucky to lose both 1-0 to defending champions KCCA F.C in the opening game and 2-2 against Express in the Wankulukuku Derby, Bwete is hopeful.
The experienced goalie was among the nine players released from the tax collectors’ camp at the end of the season after barely failing to cement first team football.
He was earlier linked to a move to ‘Eastern Giants’ BUL F.C, Sadolin Paint and several other clubs but he has settled at the Wankulukuku based club.
“Of all the offers received, I zeroed on Lweza because I feel it is the best way I can settle down and revive myself,” he told this website.
“I signed a half season deal (six months) that will keep me upto January with an option to extendl if all goes well.”
The goalkeeper is among nine players who were released from URA during the mid season in a massive player reshuffle. He last featured in the Cranes team in November 2014 during an international friendly against Ethiopia after an earlier successful outing in a ‘Namutima’ tour to Gulu.
“My aim is to go back to the national team and with hard work I believe all will come in place.”
Lweza travel to Matugga on Tuesday September 6 to play Bright Stars in their next league encounter.
