Uganda Cranes midfielder has called upon fellow players and Ugandans at large to keep the spirits high ahead of the crunch decider against Comoros in the final group D of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.
Mawejje who features for Iceland side Knattspyrnufelagion Trottur is confident with positive energy ahead of the Comoros game, Uganda will be able to break the jinx.
“I believe we are in good mood for the Sunday game, we just need to keep focused and positive as players and all Ugandans at large,” Mawejje told journalists after the friendly game against Kenya.
Mawejje who came on as a second half substitute also believes the friendly game against Kenya will help the team improve in areas they are lacking.
“It has been a good test for us despite the fact that we did not win. I think we shall reflect on today’s performance and see that we improve especially in areas where we looked lacking,” he added.
Uganda were held to goalless draw in a friendly game played on Tuesday at Mandela National stadium.
